Lightroom Settings

I have created a new Lightroom catalog.

Watched folder: C:\Users\Steve\Pictures\Auto Import

Destination: K:\Pictures with auto generated sub-folders

My Photos to K

I copied all the pictures that have some how appeared in C:\My Pictures to the appropriate folder on K. Need to adjust Lightroom catalog.

I'm updating to Lightroom 2. Here are my settings in case I forget:

• Custom metadata file on C:\My Documents\Lightroom
• Catalog Backup on C:\Users\Steve\Pictures\Lightroom
• Auto Import on J:\Pictures

Night Photography Idea

Start a 5-10 min exposure in perfect focus (focus at infinity). At increments during the shot defocus your camera by small amounts. The shorter the increments and smaller the focus change the better the result. The result should be cone shapes (instead of points of light) because the stars will move through the frame as they become larger (de-focused) blobs of light. The reason for doing this: unfocused images show their color much better than tiny points of light. You will be able to compare the red/yellow/white/blue etc. colors of the different stars. Holga

I bought a Holga camera to experiment with... Even with all the digital equipment I now have, I cannot resist the dreamy look of the Holga prints. Speaking of prints, getting 120 film processed is more of a chore than I expected. I found a local lab that will do the work. Wal*Mart also prints the film for about a third of the cost, but the film is sent out. I shot a quick test roll, and have dropped it off to see how good Wal*Mart does. I'm half convinced that the film won't get processed. I'll know for sure on March 19.
